That Was the Week that Was

Last Monday I attended the Assoc. of Or. Counties regular meeting. Committees that I serve on are Fed Lands subcommittee, Public Safety, Veterans, and public Health. That afternoon I rushed back to meet with tourism to discuss the short term rental proposals. That evening I attended the library meeting at Gladstone city hall where planning continues for the Gladstone and Oak Grove/Jennings lodge libraries.

Tuesday we had our regular exec session to discuss legal matters followed by our regular work session. At noon we had an employee recognition luncheon. That was followed by a legislative planning session and a discussion of the proposed OGLO bridge. We directed staff to complete their work prior to any decisions so that we and the public actually know exactly what, where, costs etc. Whether it is a go or not, the decision should be made after we have all the facts and public input from those for and against. What a concept- get the facts! Before deciding!!

Wednesday I attended the presentations of our leadership academy, met with our PGA director, joined the Academy for the awards luncheon and then went out to the French Prairie Forum. Issues there included emergency planning and tourism. That night Grace returned home- YAY!

Thursday I met with the General manager followed by a CLT update- we should be having a groundbreaking very soon!!! Following that we had a regular business meeting and I met with staff from our mediator office. That afternoon I went over to Rosevilla for their NET ZERO energy event. Friday, Saturday and Sunday were spent at the Oregon Summit in Bend. pics to follow.

That’s it for this week,Ken
PS don’t forget to make a contribution to our campaign, Thank you!!
