That Was the Week that Was

This week really started off on Tuesday. We had an exec session discussing legal and contract issues. Then we had a regular work session ( btw you can listen to them by going to Clackamas.us) It included emergency management, Bureau of Land Management updates, state building code updates, review of our strategic plan, and a proposed tiered system for transportation.

On Wednesday I had an 8 am coffee w/ a constituent, spent time in the office studying and At noon I went to Rotary where Steve Leitz presented a check for $1100.00 to the sheriff for Shop with a Cop. That evening Chair Bernard and I attended the Portland Business Alliance dinner, networking on behalf of Clackamas County.

Thursday I met w/ the Tax assessor to discuss a legislative proposal to increase the exemption on property tax for disabled veterans. That was followed by a discussion w/ a sheriff’s deputy and an FBI agent to discuss a law enforcement issue. Then we had our regular business meeting. That afternoon was some yard work therapy until the evening when I went to a public meeting in Molalla re: a proposed timber harvest.

Friday it was back to Molalla where I spent several hours at Molalla Middle school at a veterans day celebration and had the honor of speaking about veterans service as a USMC vet myself. Lest we forget- 57 million have served, 41 million in war. 1.1 million have died answering the call. Let us hope that someday we can stop the madness.

Tonight I will attend the Gov. Camp CPO meeting, tomorrow, so far, is a break and Monday I will join fellow vets at 3 of our VFW/ American Legion events.

I want to thank all of you who have endorsed our campaign for reelection, donated ,who are volunteering or liked our facebook page. It is your support that keeps me going, Ken
