That Was the Week that Was

This week was a whirlwind of networking and learning. We attended the Association of Oregon Counties annual convention in Eugene. Besides the general sessions each day,I attended sessions on The state of Housing in Oregon, Public Health, Accessory Dwelling units(HB2001) ,Pay equity,Broadband Opportunities, met with congressional staffers from Senator Wyden’s and Senator Merkley’s office. and wildfire risk mitigation, to name a few topics. On Wednesday night i enjoyed a dinnerwith all staff and commissioners from Clackamas that attended, hosted by our County Administrator, Gary Schmidt. It was nice to enjoy each others company in a casual setting for a change.

Friday I returned home and relaxed with Grace. Saturday evening we went to the Bridging Cultures Thanksgiving Dinner in Canby, where we enjoyed a dinner of Mexican and American food- where else would you get turkey and cranberry sauce w/ spanish rice, mexican meat and tortillas together, followed by pumpkin pie. MMMM.

Thanx to the Canby Police Dept . for serving!!!

That’s it for the week , Ken
